The Alan Mepham Merit Shield

The “Merit Shield” is award annually at the Easter Meet by the Executive Committee to the member who they considered had rendered the most signal service to the Fellowship or to rough-stuff cycling generally.

The “Merit Shield” was first introduced at Chipping Norton at Easter 1959 and was awarded to Bernard Heath for his leadership of the Rough-Stuff Fellowship Iceland Expedition of 1958.
