Annual Photographic Competition

 

Rules

Note: The same picture should not be entered as both a print and a slide. Also please do not submit pictures which have been submitted in previous years. The RSF reserves the right to publish any entry.

 

(1) Colour Slides

1: Entries must be members’ own slides.

2: Entries are limited to a TOTAL of 12 SLIDES per member.

3: Members must indicate in which section the slides are being entered:

    ( A ) Rough-Stuff   ( B ) General

4: Title of slide and name and address of owner to be marked on each slide.

5: Entries must be spotted in the bottom left-hand corner when viewed correctly.

6: Mounts may be glass, plastic or card.

7: Whilst every care will be taken, entries are accepted at owner’s risk only.

8: Entries, accompanied by an address label and return postage, should be sent to Mr Frank Brierly, 82 Summerseat Lane, Holcombe Brook, Bury BL0 9RQ  to arrive not later than March 1st.

 

Three prizes will be awarded in each section. In addition, the Charlie Chadwick Trophy will be awarded for the best overall slide, the Bill Hill Trophy for the best Rough-Stuff slide, and the John Hendry Trophy for the best General Section slide. A mounted and framed Johnny Helms original cartoon will be awarded for the most humorous slide, which will be judged during the showing of slides on Good Friday evening.

Competitors are advised that a good method of sending slides is to enclose them in an original slide box suitably packed with tissue paper.

 

( 2 ) Colour Prints

 

1: Entries must be prints from members’ own negatives or transparencies.

2: Entries are limited to a TOTAL of 10 PRINTS per member and a maximum size 7“ by 5”.

3: The title of each print and the name and address of the owner must be written on the back of each print as well as the section in which it entered, ( A ) Rough-Stuff  ( B ) General.    

N.B. To avoid damage, lay print on a hard surface and use pencil or ink which does not smear, or write on paper or adhesive label and stick it on the back of the print.

4: Whilst every care will be taken, entries are accepted at the owner’s risk only.

5: Entries , accompanied by an addressed label and return postage, should be sent to Mr Frank Brierly, 82 Summerseat Lane, Holcombe Brook, Bury BL0 9RQ  to arrive not later than February 25th 2007.

 

Three prizes will be awarded in each section. In addition, the Arthur Matthews Trophy will be awarded for the best Rough-Stuff print and the Eric Savage Trophy for the best General Section Print. Entries will be exhibited on Good Friday evening.
